The Chautauqua Institution is a gated Victorian village situated in a beautiful secure setting – a festival for the mind and body. A not-for-profit educational center beside Chautauqua Lake in southwestern New York State, the Chautauqua Institution was founded in 1874.

Bellinger Hall is a 115-room residential dormitory with complete dining facilities, courtyards and classroom and meeting space.  It will be a basic but comfortable home for the long weekend.

Turner Hall is a former elementary school with classrooms, a fitness center and indoor pool. The majority of classes will be held here and the fitness center and pool are available free to conference participants.

Columbus Day Weekend in early October is typically the peak of the fall foliage season. If the weather is cooperative, plan some time to take a walk or two around the grounds.  Walk to the lakefront. Take in the Athenaeum Hotel and other sights throughout the village. Visit the Chautauqua Bookstore and the Gallery Store.

Housing Information (total for three nights). Limited handicapped rooms are available, with walk-in showers, grab bars and shower bench. (While handicapped toilets are available in public bathrooms, there are no handicapped toilets/grab bars in the individual bedrooms of Bellinger Hall.)
