When does registration for the conference start?
Online registration starts April 1, 2027 at 9:00 A.M.
Is there an option to mail a paper registration form this year?
No paper registration forms will be accepted this year. If you need assistance with registration, please contact the Registrar at registrar@eglfc.org.
Why didn’t I receive a confirmation email when I registered online?
We encourage you to check your email spam or junk folders. If you still can’t find the confirmation email, contact the Registrar at registrar@eglfc.org.
What if I need to cancel my registration? Cancellations received on or before July 10th, 2027, will receive full refund less $100 cancellation fee. Cancellation received between July 11th and August 9th, 2027, will be refunded 50% of registration fee. There are no refunds after August 9th.
When will I be notified what class I’m enrolled in?
You will hear within two weeks of submitting your registration form, but usually turnaround is faster.
When will I find out what to bring for my class?
The instructor will contact you before July 15th.
What do I need to bring to the conference for lodging? What is supplied?
Linens and pillows are supplied with all dormitory rooms. You are welcome to bring a favorite pillow or blanket.
What are the rooming options?
Conference attendees will be staying in the dormitory at the newly renovated Greene Family Commons. Room options consist of a single room with or without a shared bathroom. Two friends can book two single rooms with a shared bathroom to get a reduced lodging fee and a roommate type experience. A limited number of disability accessible rooms are available for participants with mobility challenges. See the Conference Center/Lodging webpage. Registrants should specify their special needs when completing the registration form.
Are meals included? Are there vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options?
Nine meals will be provided in the Greene Family Commons dining hall during the conference: Friday dinner through Monday lunch. Special diets will be accommodated – please share your dietary requests when completing the registration form.
Quick serve restaurants are available in Jamestown, Fredonia, Westfield and Erie, PA if you need additional meal options before the conference on Friday or afterwards on Monday.
For an additional option during the conference weekend, the Athenaeum Lobby Lounge in the Chautauqua village (3 South Lake Drive) serves food and beverages including alcohol from 10:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. daily. There is comfortable seating and “hang-out” space. You can walk down to the lake but you can also drive and use nearby parking.
Can I bring a guest who doesn’t take classes?
Yes, guests are welcome but they’ll need to cover the cost of meals, and they will need to book their own single room.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, there is free Wi-Fi at both the Greene Family Commons and the Turner Community Center.
I’m new at this and have only done a few projects. Should I bring one or two for the exhibit?
Yes!! This is not a juried exhibit. Everyone, including newer fiber artists are encouraged to exhibit their stuff. It’s inspiring to have a wide range of complexity and challenge represented.
What’s the Studio Bonanza event?
Our Studio Bonanza is a ticketed raffle. You are encouraged to bring fiber-related equipment, books and yarn that you no longer want and take home some new additions for your studio. It’s a fun event that will help replenish the EGLFC reserve account. Please note, if your donations are still there at the end of the evening, be sure to take them back home with you!
Can I bring wine to the conference?
Chautauqua Institute has a new alcohol policy which prevents attendees from supplying their own alcoholic beverages on the property.
Can I sell items at the conference?
This year instructors are encouraged to sell items within their classrooms, but otherwise conference participants may not offer items for sale.
