Become a Fiber Angel

EGLFC has a proud 45-year history of bringing world class fiber artists to the local, Eastern Great Lakes region where fiber lovers of all abilities can learn and grow in their own skills as fiber artists, in a small and personal setting and without traveling great distances to get there. Every two years, old and new friends gather to learn and share in a relaxed and intimate setting for three days of immersion and camaraderie in the fiber arts. So that we can continue to offer the same level of quality in our programming, we are seeking ways to offset rising costs.

By becoming a Fiber Angel, past and future participants, guilds and interested businesses can ensure ongoing stability for the Eastern Great Lakes Fiber Conference (EGLFC).  Perhaps you would like to donate in someone’s honor.  Your donation helps us reduce program expenses and provide ongoing seed money for upfront expenses of the future conferences.

A suggested donation is $100, but donations in any amount are graciously appreciated.  You may send a check or use PayPal.  Remember that EGLFC is a tax exempt charity.  If requested, a letter of receipt will be provided for the IRS.  This letter will be emailed to you unless you provide your mailing address below.

Join the Team

We are a team of volunteers who are committed to planning and running a fun and educational experience for our fiber friends.

Many volunteer hours go into planning EGLFC. It’s a great way to meet people and share your love of fiber arts with like minded individuals. There are a variety of roles and committees to join in support of EGLFC.  We have been lining up our leadership for 2027!

If you are interested in joining our team, let us know. There is a job for everyone! We currently need help with the Banquet committee and the Food & Menu committee for the 2027 conference. If you can help, contact us at eglfconference@gmail.com. 

Help Spread the Word

Eastern Great Lakes Fiber Conference is a completely “volunteer-powered” enterprise, including a hard-working Publicity Team whose sole purpose is to do just that! They’ve put together a half page flyer that you can print and share with your friends or customers. 

But nothing beats word-of-mouth to share in the enthusiasm of attending a unique fiber conference and weekend retreat to whet the appetite of fiber love like that of EGLFC.  Autumn is a great time of year to invigorate our enthusiasm for fiber arts — a passion that’s particularly suited for the long, gray winters in our northern climate.

Volunteer at the Conference

Many volunteer hours go into planning EGLFC. Many more are needed during the conference itself. Some ways you can volunteer a small portion of your time during the conference weekend are:

• Registration/Check-in Table
• Set-up/Take-down events
• Take a shift in the Exhibit Hall 
• Be a runner at the Studio Bonanza
• Model in the Fashion Show
